The Location
The exact location of Whiting Stay is at Whiting Bay on the County Waterford coast line where the Irish sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Whiting Bay is based very near Ardmore village in County Waterford. Ardmore is one of Ireland’s most beautiful locations. It is a scenic seaside resort and fishing village with magnificent coastal views, rolling cliffs surrounded by ocean that is home to an abundance of native Irish wildlife, many of which are protected species.

Ardmore
There is a breath taking Cliff walk around the bay of Ardmore too which is rated as the top activity for Ardmore on TripAdvisor.
Ardmore is also home to Saint Declan’s well and one of the best-preserved and oldest Ecclesiastical sites in Ireland and there is a sign posted walk from Cashel in Co Tipperary all the way to Ardmore village known as Saint Declan’s Way.
Comeragh Mountains
The Comeragh Mountain range is about 30 minute drive from Whiting Bay. Every year the Comeraghs Wild festival is held in the mountains in the Summer.
There is a wonderful hike in the mountain to Coumshinghuan lake as well as walks to Mahon Falls and through Crough Wood.
Local Attractions
Crystal Centre Visitor Experience
Waterford first became famous for its Crystal. In Waterford City it is possible to visit the Wateford Crystal Visitor Center where one can see the experienced cutters and blowers still working their art to make beautiful crystal.
There is also an abundance of water sports, cycling routes and scenic on drives in the surrounding area.
Sea Weed Baths – Helbhic Head
Helbhic Head is 15 minutes away. Helbhic Head is the tip of the Gaeltacht peninsula.
Again if you thought that this could be of interest to you and your party it may be possible to get these bath set up at the property.
Irish Music
Traditional Irish Music is played a few times a week at the Marine Bar which is about 15 minutes away from Whiting Bay also.
Culinary Delights
5 minutes away is the Cliff House Hotel that hosts a Michelin Star Restaurant - The House Restaurant, as well as a full bar restaurant too.
Also in the village of Ardmore is The White Horses which is a beautiful traditional Irish Restaurant.
Nearby Dungarvan town has become an area of Culinary delights also, including renowned chef Paul Flynn’s, The Tannery.
Every year Dungarvan hosts a two day event for the West Waterford Food Festival.
Ballymaloe House, world famous restaurant and cookery school run by Darina and Rachel Allen is about 30 minutes from Whiting Bay.
Booking in advance is highly recommended for all restaurants, particularly in the Summer months.
